Luther Memorial Concert Series
225 W 10th Street, Erie, PA
Matthew Shepard's story is a cornerstone of our LGBTQ+ history. His life, and the hate that took it, woke up a nation. And now, his legacy of love and activism is coming to Erie. NWPA Pride Alliance is incredibly proud to be part of a very special community event.
On Saturday, September 20, 2025, please join us for a free screening of the documentary, "Matt Shepard is a Friend of Mine".
This is more than just a film screening. It's a conversation. Following the film, there will be a discussion with the producer, Linda Karn, and very special guests Judy and Dennis Shepard, Matthew's parents. After their son's murder, they founded the Matthew Shepard Foundation and have become fierce advocates for our community.

A True Community Effort
This event shows what our community can do when we come together. It is made possible through a wonderful partnership between the Luther Memorial Concert Series, the Jefferson Educational Society, Compton's Table, The Erie Community Foundation, the Erie LGBTQFund, the Greater Erie Alliance for Equality (GEAE), and us here at NWPA Pride Alliance.
There's even a unique Erie connection between the Luther Memorial congregation, our city's rich history of pipe organ manufacturing, and the Shepards. You'll have to join us on September 20th to hear the whole story!
Let's fill the room to honor Matthew's memory and stand together against hate.
